Rio hero Paul O'Donovan on course for another medal at World Rowing Championships

Paul O'Donovan is into a World Rowing Championship final as he continues to impress after winning silver at Rio 2016.

Fresh from his Olympic medal which he won with brother Gary O'Donovan in the double sculls, the Skibbereen native won his semi-final today to advance to the final.

The Cork native pipped Slovakia and Germany to win his semi-final in the Lightweight Men's Single Sculls to advance to Saturday's final.

His time of 06:51.710 was the fastest from the first two heats.
