Although the odds were against him, Diaz came out on top
Nick Diaz may have been just a spectator as his brother took on Conor McGregor this past weekend, but he was involved in a bout of his own this week in a night club in Los Angeles.
The professional MMA fighter was reportedly involved in an altercation in a bathroom at the Hyde Bellagio, after he bumped into another man on his way in.
While Diaz told TMZ that he apologised, it seems that it wasn't enough to defuse the situation and the guy and his friends decided that they wanted to rumble.
That may not have been the wisest idea, given that Diaz fights for a living and, much like his brother Nate, can take a punch about as well as anyone in the entire business.
Speaking to TMZ, Diaz stated however that it wasn't a case of the guys trying to prove themselves, as he said "I don't even think these guys knew who I was."
According to the reports, Diaz was "hitting them, putting them into different chokes. At the same time, Nick is obviously getting hit himself and actually got a pretty nasty gash on the top of his head, [which] might require stitches."
Hyde nightclub reportedly confirmed the UFC star's version of events, telling TMZ that he tried to defuse the situation but had "no choice but to defend himself."
However, he added that he wont be pressing charges, as the guys came off on the losing end of the fight and had suffered enough.
