Ireland's Leona Maguire carded a 6-under second round on Day 2 of the women's golf tournament at Rio 2016.

After starting from 3-over par after Round 1, that second day performance has lifted her well up the leaderboard to 3-under overall heading into the final two rounds.

She picked up seven birdies in the process and just one bogey.

Fellow Irish challenger Stephanie Meadow also had an extremely positive round, carding a 5-under 66, finishing strongly with three birdies in the final four holes.

Today's action leaves Maguire tied for 22nd but just five shots off the medal places, while Meadow is on 1-over overall.

Inbee Park leads the way on 10-under.
