Four years ago, Annalise Murphy was understandably in tears after agonisingly missing out on a medal at London 2012.

But four years on and that fourth place has become a spot on the podium and cheers from Irish fans as she takes home a silver medal from the Rio Games.

Murphy had been in the bronze medal position, entering the final medal race but improved that to get silver.
