Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has been sent home from the club's pre-season tour to the United States.

Liverpool state that the France international has been allowed home for treatment on an Achilles injury but there are rumours that he is being punished by manager Jurgen Klopp after he arrived late for the flight to the US.

The Telegraph claim that he has "infuriated" Klopp on at least two occasions, although the video below shows the two on cordial terms, even though the German manager does bring up the fact that Sakho was late for the flight.

Sakho has had a difficult few months since serving a provisional 30-day suspension for testing positive for a fat-burner, although it was later found not to have been on the list of banned substances and the case was dismissed.

However, the issue did lead to him missing out on France's Euro 2016 squad.
