Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph claims new manager Pep Guardiola has taught him more in three weeks than he had previously learned in his entire career.

The 26-year-old is currently engaged in pre-season preparations with the club as ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager, Guardiola, puts his squad through their paces ahead of his debut season in charge.

And he seems to be having an immediate impact if England international Delph is anything to go by.

"The first three weeks have been amazing. I've learned more than I have throughout my whole career. It is a big statement but it is the truth," he told BBC Sport.

"The manager has a lot of different systems and it is all about learning different positions. I am on a big learning curve. If that can keep going I would be very happy. I don't think I will be a centre-back but you will be pleasantly surprised."
