The reigning Open champion returned the trophy to Royal Troon ahead of this week's competition
Zach Johnson and his family were forced to bid an emotional goodbye to the Claret Jug this week, as the reigning Open champion returns the trophy to the R&A.
With Colin Montgomerie getting the action underway this Thursday morning, the American gives back the coveted trophy and said it was not a pleasant moment.
Johnson posted this collage to Twitter including images of his daughter Abbey-Jane and his sons, Will and Wyatt as well as his wife Kim Barclay.
The 40-year-old said the exchange was "not pleasant" but looked back at some of the fonder moments he shared with the trophy.
