Juan Mata linked with a move to Everton as Jose Mourinho starts to shape his squad

The diminutive Spaniard does not suit Joe Mourinho's style

Juan Mata must have known his time at Manchester United was winding down once Jose Mourinho was announced as the manager of the team.

He was sold by the Portuguese manager after winning two consecutive Player of the Year awards for Chelsea and impressing during his spell in England due to his creativity and eye for goal.

Ronald Koeman was named as Everton manager last week and has been reportedly handed a large sum to reignite the squad and turn them into contenders in the Premier League. He has selected Mata as a potential new signing and must have inside information that the 28-year-old is available.

Upon Zlatan Ibrhimovic's arrival at Old Trafford, he was reportedly heard saying he wants the number 8 jersey, which is coincidentally enough, Juan Mata's number in the squad.

Things are looking ominous for Mata at United and the signings of Henrihk Mkhitaryan and reported negotiations for Hirving Lozano will not help matters.
