It is expected the Welshman will leave the club this week after turning down a reduced role under Jose Mourinho
Ryan Giggs is expected to leave Manchester United this week after reportedly turning down a reduced role in the club's coaching set-up under new manager Jose Mourinho.
Giggs, who has been with the club since he was a player at underage level and was one of the famous Class of '92 crop, is expected to release a statement later this week announcing that he will leave the club.
The 42-year-old has been linked with the managerial vacancy at Nottingham Forrest, but has not managed a team other than Manchester United, when he took over in a caretaker capacity at the end of the 2013/14 season. He has been part of the coaching set-up since 2013.
He spent the past two years as assistant to Louis van Gaal before the Dutchman was sacked at the end of last season and new boss Mourinho isn't keen on keeping Giggs on as assistant manager.
"Close friends of the star believe he could even take a break from football before trying to get into management next year" the Sunday People report.
