The welterweight champion has no fear about facing the Irishman.
With a rematch against Nate Diaz on the cards for Conor McGregor, the Irishman clearly has his sights set on making an impact in the welterweight division.
If he wants to claim the belt, however, he'd need to not only win his rematch against Diaz but also take on Robbie Lawler, who sent a message to the Dubliner when speaking to WSB2-TV Atlanta on Wednesday night.
Speaking about a fight between the two that was rumoured to be in the works when Rafael Dos Anjos pulled out of UFC 196 with an injury, Lawler said he wasn't too worried about it.
Speaking to Zach Klein, Lawler said "Obviously, that was a big fight. He's a big draw, but it wouldn't have been good for him."
When asked why, Lawler said "if I hurt him, I wasn't taking his neck, [I was taking] his soul. I'm a lot different than most people. He found a way out and Diaz took his neck and was nice to him."
When asked by Klein if he was calling McGregor out and calling him soft, the San Diego native said "I'm just telling it like it is and calling it how I saw it."
