The pair were originally intended to meet in UFC 200
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will finally have their long anticipated rematch at UFC 202.
After being initially tossed off the UFC 200 card for failing to observe his promotional obligations, McGregor will make his return to the octagon in August for a second shot at Nate Diaz in a welterweight bout.
The rematch was announced at UFC 199 in Las Vegas last night.
Diaz executed one of the biggest UFC upsets last March when he defeated Conor McGregor at UFC 196. Calls for a rematch quickly followed but McGregor subsequently fell out favour with the UFC over his refusal to attend a promotional event, citing a more pressing need to train as his reason for not showing up.
He then unexpectedly tweeted out a retirement announcement and followed it up with a statement elaborating on why he chose not to attend the event.
