The Leicester City striker is currently on duty with the England international side
Reports on Twitter suggest that Arsenal have activated Jamie Vardy's release clause of £22 million and could be on the brink of signing the English striker.
The Leicester City number nine had a fantastic season and was one of the main reasons his side marched to an unprecedented league success. He scored 24 goals and was the first player to score in 11 consecutive games in the Premier League.
Arsenal eventually finished second ahead of Tottenham Hotspur but with Danny Welbeck injured and Olivier Giroud's consistent inconsistency, Arsene Wenger may feel the need to score a trusty goalscorer. It remains to be seen whether Vardy is that but at the reported £22 million, it could turn out to be an excellent piece of business.
