Jurgen Klopp completes a deal for Loris Karius
Liverpool have signed goalkeeper Loris Karius from German team Mainz.
He has represented Germany at under-21s level, while he also spent two years in Manchester City's youth teams, and adds competition for the under-pressure incumbent Simon Mignolet.
The club say he has agreed "a long-term contract", and it is believed they've paid just under £5 million for his signature.
Karius is Klopp's second signing from the Bundesliga since taking charge of Liverpool after defender Joel Matip who signed from Schalke in January for the end of the season.
Karius (22), who was born in southern Germany, has represented his country at every underage level since the under-16s .
He had an impressive 2015-16 season, ending up being voted as the third best goalkeeping performer in the division by Bundesliga fans.
Karius had nine clean sheets in 34 games and made the most penalty saves in the past season with two
