The former PR and Newcastle midfielder helped Burnley to win the Championship last season
Joey Barton has reportedly agreed a deal to join Scottish Championship winners Rangers ahead of the new season.
Barton was named player of the year as he helped guide Burnley to the top of the Championship and secure their Premier League status for next season.
The BBC report that he had met Rangers manager Mark Warburton during his visit to Auchenhowie [Rangers training ground] ten days ago.

He is likely to sign in the near future as a free agent and is understood to have travelled to Rangers today to complete a medical.
