New York City's Frank Lampard was booed by his own fans as they suffered a 7-0 derby humiliation against New York Red Bulls in America's Major League Soccer.

Former Manchester City and Southampton forward Bradley Wright-Phillips scored twice for the visitors.

Patrick Vieira's side, which also features ex-Spain record goalscorer David Villa and veteran Italy World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo are second in the table, despite the loss.

Lampard came on for Pirlo during the New York derby but received a decidedly frosty reception.

The Chelsea legend originally signed a two-year deal with New York City in July 2014 but irritated the fans of the newly-established clubs when he extended his loan deal at parent club Manchester City.
