Even though he is a Manchester United fan, Rory McIlroy says he would love Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to help out Europe's Ryder Cup golf team.

Captain Darren Clarke is keen to ask the German for some involvement when they take on the USA later this year.

United legend Sir Alex Ferguson delivered some words of inspiration to the team in 2014 at then captain Paul McGinley's request, which he shared an insight about at last night's 'An Evening With Rory' at the Convention Centre.

And McIlroy likes the idea of Klopp giving a hand in some way.

"I think Jurgen Klopp is great. His personality, his interviews, his energy. [It] will be great to spend some time with him and I think it would be a great thing for the team," he said.
