The Republic of Ireland striker scored twice during the season to scoop the accolade for April
Shane Long has been rewarded for his appearances in the Premier League by being named Southampton fan's Player of the Month for April.
Long, who notched two goals and three assists last month, has helped propel Southampton toward European football next season with two games remaining this term.
The Republic of Ireland striker has been one of the national side's most prolific players this term and should he remain fit, is likely to lead the line for Martin O'Neill's side at this year's European Championships in France.
"It’s nice that the fans are showing faith in me and giving me this award. When they pick you out as a stand-out player, it’s always an honour" he told the club's official website.
The Tipperary native has scored 10 times this season for the Saints, with four assists during a season interrupted by injury.
