Kerry made history with victory in their Leinster Hurling Championship qualifier group game this afternoon.

They beat Carlow by 2-19 to 0-17 at Austin Stack Park in their first ever Leinster Senior Hurling match, with Shane Nolan top scoring for Kerry with 1-4. John Egan also got a goal from the Kingdom with a personal haul of 1-3.

Meanwhile, Westmeath came out on top against Offaly by a 2-22 to 1-11 scoreline at Cusack Park.

It was history of its own for Westmeath as it's the county's first championship win over Offaly since 1976.
