It is understood that Jose Mourinho has been approached by Paris Saint-Germain about becoming their new manager this summer.

That's despite current boss Laurent Blanc only signing a two-year contract extension in February.

However, the new deal came before PSG fell at the Champions League quarter-final stage for a second year running at the hands of Manchester City

Sky Sports is reporting that PSG's chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made contact with Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes.

After the defeat to City, Al-Khelaifi backed Blanc but added that he "tried everything including a tactical gamble".

However, it is believed Mourinho's preference is to see what happens at Manchester United at the end of the season first.

There have been conflicting reports about Man United's summer plans with different reports stating different outcomes.

Some claim Mourinho will succeed Louis van Gaal, others say Ryan Giggs will get the job instead, and a minority suggest Man United intend to stick with Van Gaal for another year.
