There were worrying signs from an Irish perspective this afternoon as Seamus Coleman was withdrawn from Everton's draw with Southampton with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Coleman lasted on 54 minutes before he was replaced and his withdrawal will cast doubts over his fitness ahead of Euro 2016.

"Seamus felt his hamstring,” Roberto Martinez said after the game.

“We’ll assess him in the morning but it’ll be hard to see him involved this week.”

Martinez may be without Coleman for upcoming games against Liverpool in the Premier League and Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final.

The Everton boss has come under pressure over the past two weeks after a spell of fixtrures which has seen them pick up only three points from five games.
