A bonus-point win sees Leinster move five points clear at the top of the Pro12
Leo Cullen has said his side played well for an hour in their bonus-point win over Edinburgh on Friday evening.
Four second half tries ensured the maximum points for the Pro12 leaders after only leading 6-3 at the break. Tries from Luke McGrath, Josh van der Flier and a Fergus McFadden brace helped the side to a 30-23 win.
"The first half was frustrating, just nearly, nearly getting over. Edinburgh went hard at the ball and frustrated us at the breakdown", Cullen revealed post-match.
The former second-row was delighted with how his side performed after causing the Scottish side issues throughout the game. "I think we wore them down in the first half, which allowed us to break them down a little easier in the second half. I think the guys has really good intensity. We were pretty good for 60 minutes."
Despite numerous handling errors in the first half, Cullen had no problem with the desire shown by the side in testing conditions. "Everyone is really trying hard. I thought the intent was great... We probably forced things on a few things. I couldn't fault the effort of the players. They had a really positive mindset."
Five points clear at the top of the table, Cullen spoke about how he is looking forward to Saturday's games. "If I was offered five points this morning I would happily take it. It's nice to play on a Friday and be able to watch some of the teams around us on Saturday."
