St. Pats got the three points in a narrow victory thanks to a strange goal from a set piece.
It was a tight 2-1 win for St. Pats in Ballybofey on Monday night as they faced Finn Harps, and have a freak event to thank for coming away with the three points.
The main reason for the win was the large slice of luck they got as a corner ended up in the back of the net courtesy of Packie Mailey's face, not that he knew all that much about it.
Conan Byrne whipped in the ball towards the back post, and perhaps Mailey was a little bit distracted by his goalkeeper coming to claim it but missing entirely.
Either way, they were unable to overcome the deficit as Mark Timlin scored a second, before Kevin McHugh converted a late penalty for the home side to try and pull them back into it.
