Annie Power has claimed an emphatic win on the opening day of this year's Aintree Grand National festival.

The brilliant mare cruised to an 18-length winning margin in the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle for trainer Willie Mullins and jockey Ruby Walsh.

Earlier, Mullins bagged another Grade 1 winner on the opening day after Apple's Jade claimed the Juvenile Hurdle.

Meanwhile, veteran chaser Cue Card has won the Betfred Bowl ahead of Don Poli in second and Djackadam in third.
