Ireland drop in the latest FIFA rankings

Ireland are down two places to 31st in the latest FIFA world rankings.

Our Euro 2016 opponents Sweden are down two places to 36th, Belgium drop one place to second while Italy are down one place to 15th.

Northern Ireland are up two places to 26th.

Argentina currently top the rankings after overtaking Belgium, while fellow South Americans Chile are now listed as the third best national side in world football.

 

They are ahead of Colombia, who are just ahead of world champions and fifth-placed Germany.

Reigning European champions Spain are sixth, ahead of Brazil, Portugal and Uruguay in the Top 10.

Euro 2016 hosts France are now 21st in the FIFA rankings.
