Statistically, they are on course to beat their best points total
Borussia Dortmund's recent peak would seem to be the Jurgen Klopp era when they won two Bundesliga titles and reached the 2013 Champions League final.
But as their official website points out, even their record-breaking 2011-12 season does not match their current rate of success this season.
After 27 games of the 2011-12 campaign, they had 62 points on the way to setting a then record of 81 points to win the title.
But this season, they have already amassed 64 at the same point under Klopp's successor Thomas Tuchel.
Yet even that is not enough to topple Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich who remain five points clear at the top, which just goes to show how powerful the Bundesliga leaders really are.
At least Dortmund have already sealed their return to next season's Bundesliga.
