Not for the first time this season, TJ Reid looked a class above as he fired Kilkenny to victory over Dublin on a scoreline of 0-23 to 1-14 at Nowlan Park.

The hurler of the year helped himself to a personal tally of 11 points to keep Kilkenny top of Division 1A in front of a crowd of 8,871.

They will now have a home quarter-final to look forward to.

The Cats secured top spot after Waterford slipped up to Galway at Walsh Park, with the game finishing 0-24 to 1-21.

The Tribesmen managed to snatch a draw in the latter stages after trailing for the majority of the game, but it won't be enough to save them from a relegation play-off with Cork, as Tipp disposed of the Rebels on a score of 2-27 to 2-15 in Semple Stadium.

The Premier county will play Clare in the quarter-finals, after the Banner secured promotion back to division 1A with a 1-19 to 0-18 victory over provincial rivals Limerick.

In the biggest shock of the day, Kerry stunned Offaly in Birr, for their first win over the Faithful county in 60 years.

Unfortunately for the Kingdom, the 2-18 to 2-17 win wasn't enough for them to sneak into the quarter-finals and they will play Laois in a relegation play-off.

Here are the best pictures from an exciting day of action.
