Ex-Man United full-back does not rate Jose Mourinho as an option to solve problems at Old Trafford
Harry Redknapp might be claiming that Jose Mourinho to Manchester United is a "done deal".
But ex-Old Trafford full-back Paul Parker does not think the Portuguese is the right man and wants to see another far less likely candidate to be considered as temporary figure as Man United boss.
In his Eurosport column, Parker has called for ex-Tottenham and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood to get the gig in the short-term until the club settle on a more permanent option.
"Frankly, given how unhappy the players are right now, they'd be better off bringing in Tim Sherwood between now and the end of the season: someone to soft soap the players, given them a bit of a cuddle, get them feeling good about themselves once again," he writes, before adding, "Sadly, as we've seen with Tim, those sorts of managers don't work long term. And United need to start thinking about the long term as soon as possible, because if not they face the ultimate danger: turning into the new Liverpool."
