After a very difficult loss, one club captain made sure to have words with the winning team.
The quarter final of the MacRory Cup tie saw St. Ronan’s of Lurgan taking on St Colman’s of Newry, but it also featured a moment of great sportsmanship.
With 19 titles to their name already, St. Colman's are undoubtedly the dominant team in the inter-college competition, and would have been expected to make their way through to the next round.
Understandably devastated, captain Charlie Carr collapsed to the ground after the final whistle, but showed true sportsmanship once he'd dusted himself down and gathered his thoughts.
Encouraged by his father, Carr got back to his feet and went over to the huddle of the winning team to tell them what a great match it had been, and wish them luck in the competition.
The fantastic moment was captured by photographer Brendan Monaghan, who explained the story behind the picture at the game.
