The former Manchester City player appeared in court on Wednesday
Sunderland footballer Adam Johnson pleaded guilty on two counts in a court on Wednesday morning.
The former Manchester City and Middlesbrough player was charged in August with three counts of sexual activity with a child, and one count of grooming.
The 28-year-old pleaded guilty on two counts in Bradford Crown Court, admitting to one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of grooming, involving kissing and "touching the victim's body in sexual way".
The player will have to sign the sexual offenders register, but denies two additional charges of sexual activity with a child.
A jury will be sworn in on for the trial on Wednesday.
