European Champion Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe is using one ahead of Rio 2016
Any athlete will try and give themselves a competitive edge when training for one of the biggest events of their career.
Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe is currently at what he calls "the start of a 3 week incredibly intense block of training". While the Rio Olympics may be the ultimate goal, the World Cup season needs to be completed beforehand starting in three weeks time.
The following week, Arthur will travel for the first time this year to Brazil for the second round of the World Cup. Overall there will be five World Cup events in the first half of the year.
In preparation for the season, the European Champion uses an altitude tent when sleeping to try and improve performance. According to the suppliers, the tent can; "maintain and enhance the performance benefits of an altitude training camp right up until target competition". It also helps "rehabilitation during injury to maintain aerobic conditioning and body composition".
