Ex-Man United striker joins Spanish club ahead of Euro 2016

For a player of his considerable talent, ex-Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi has been cursed with injuries in the last few years.

Serious knee problems have cost him tonnes of games and also indirectly contributed to the Italy international missing out on the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.

At Fiorentina since 2013, the US-born forward has made just 41 appearances in all competitions since then.

This month, he returned to Spain where he had played with Villarreal between 2007 and 2013, to join fellow Valencian side Levante on a loan deal.

As he tries to get a run of games to put himself in the picture for Italy's World Cup squad, Rossi shared a touching moment with an elderly Levante fan, who tearfully thanked him for signing with his club at his presentation:
