Both clubs are interested in the striker according to reports
Shane Long could be about to be entangled in a bidding war between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Southampton striker still has two and a half years left of his contract at St Mary's. He joined the club from Hull City in August 2014.
According to the Irish Daily Star, both Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino are fans of the Tipperary striker. If he joined either club he would follow in the footsteps of Irish captain Robbie Keane who played for both teams in recent years.
Liverpool are currently short of attacking options. Danny Ings is out for the remainder of the season with a cruciate ligament injury, whilst Daniel Sturridge is constantly struggling to gain full fitness.
Mark McCadden, Football Correspondent with the Irish Daily Star broke the story today. He spoke to Newstalk Sport's Oisin Lanagan about Long's options.
