The Dutchman appears agitated and defeated in recent interviews and press conferences
Louis van Gaal looks a defeated man. His body language screams a lack of confidence and the players around him say the same thing.
There have been various reports suggesting that morale is low at Old Trafford and no win in seven for United means speculation will only escalate in the coming days.
In the press conference following Manchester United's 2-0 defeat to Stoke at the Britannia, Van Gaal hinted that resignation might be a possibility as the pressure mounts. When asked about that option, Van Gaal responded, "that is something I speak to Ed Woodward about by himself — not with you."
Daniel Taylor from the Guardian also mentioned the possibility of resignation although Van Gaal was unwilling to expand.
Van Gaal dropping into press conf that one option is he might resign. Won't say - to follow-up Q - if it's something seriously considering— Daniel Taylor (@DTguardian) December 26, 2015
This would reinforce claims regarding Van Gaal's confidence and demeanour made by Guillem Balague recently.
Someone close to Van Gaal just told me last time he was like this (players didn't get him, defeatist body language), he resigned: Az Alkmaar— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) December 21, 2015
Van Gaal walked out of the press conference before the Stoke City game having waged war on the media and now it seems the writing is on the wall for the former Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern and AZ Alkmaar coach.
