Dan Carter picks up BBC award as accolades keep rolling in

Dan Carter adds BBC award to World Player of the Year 2015 award

Dan Carter's 2015 keeps getting better. The Racing Metro and New Zealand number ten has been named the BBC's 2015 Sports Personality of the Year award to go with his Player of the Year award, Rugby World Cup medal and his man of the match award in the final.

Carter was excellent throughout New Zealand's successful bid to retain the Rugby World Cup and was nothing short of sensational in the final, a 34-17 victory over neighbours Australia.

Carter said, "I’m thrilled to have been voted BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year by the UK public, it’s been an incredible year for me on British soil and the support has been phenomenal. It was an incredibly competitive short-list and I’m honoured to have been recognised alongside these great sportsmen and women from around the world."

Carter has appeared over 100 times for New Zealand and is considered one of the best players to ever don an All Black jersey.
