Wooly reigns supreme in Crappy Quiz finale after "convincing win"

The Laois native spoke candidly after his victory this evening

The Crappy Quiz is well known as the shout-iest segments in Irish radio, with listeners around the country tuning in every week as members of the beloved Off The Ball pit their wits against one-another.

This evening, Colm Parkinson, Angry Producer Mick and Nathan Murphy faced off in what is affectionately known as the "Octagon of Truth" for the Crappy Quiz of the Year.

The quiz consisted of sporting highlights and lowlights of the year and even included a maiden audio round.

In the end there could be only one winner and it was Colm 'Wooly' Parkinson who reigned supreme.

Speaking after the quiz said: "Gosh, where do I start? I'm delighted with my convincing win. I think the gruelling five-round end of year Crappy Quiz really separates the men from the boys.

"I'd like to thank God, my family for supporting me all year, my girlfriend for encouraging me not to give up when Mick won five in-a-row and obviously my Crappy Quiz fans who's support carried me through the tough losses this year."

"Finally I'd like to say that we're going to enjoy ourselves in Laois and let that recession go to hell!"
