The Leinster out-half may look at other options with the return of Johnny Sexton to the province
Ian Madigan may be following Paul O'Connell to France with reports emerging today that the Leinster out-half is in talks with Top 14 side, Bordeaux.
The42 report that Madigan has already visited Bordeaux to take a tour of the club’s training facilities and stadium.
The 26-year-old is understood to be in talks with the French side to agree a two-year deal with the club, despite rumours this week that he may be on his way to Munster.
Johnny Sexton's return to Leinster from Racing 92 means that Madigan's opportunities at will be limited and the IRFU were hoping for a Thomond Park rather than losing another key Irish player to the Top14.
Madigan has been at Leinster for the entirety of his career, with Conor O’Shea’s Harlequins and English Championship outfit Bristol have also expressed a strong interest in acquiring his services.
