Sources in France state that Madigan's most likely destination is Bordeuax
Amidst speculation that Ian Madigan's future lies away from Leinster, there are a number of clubs chasing the signature of the versatile back.
It was believed that the IRFU were trying to organise a deal that would see Madigan move to Munster, while several clubs in England had hoped to secure his services, but it now seems that France is his most likely destination.
According to French sports paper L'Equipe, who cite several sources, talks between Madigan and Bordeaux-Bègles of the Top 14 are at an advanced stage.
They are looking for someone who can play at either 10 or 12, a gap that Madigan is perfectly able to fill, and having missed out on Matt Toomua, they have their sights firmly set on the Irishman.
They note, however, that the decision would be a tough one for the Leinster player to make, given that he may be sacrificing his place in the national team to make the move, and add that there are still three players (Pierre Bernard, Romain Lonca and Lionel Beauxis) contracted until 2017 in the number 10 position at the club.
