Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos is not pleased that Gerard Piqué has been making jokes in recent days about both Real Madrid and their players.

Speaking in the wake of his side's loss to Villareal on Sunday night, Sergio Ramos said that his international team-mate Gerard Piqué needs to show more respect.

Piqué's latest controversy came recently when he took a pause on the first syllable of the word "conocido" in Spanish when speaking about Álvaro Arbeloa of Madrid, which makes a rather rude word.

Ramos said that "the only thing I can ask for is that he has respect for Real Madrid and his colleagues in the profession. These lapses in respect are not conducive to a good atmosphere. We've had some great examples in recent years with [Carles] Puyol, Xavi, Raúl or Iker [Casillas], who we should all learn from and avoid saying silly, unnecessary things".

Piqué also courted controversy when he sent an emoji-laden tweet in the wake of the news that Real Madrid faced elimination from the Copa del Rey as a result of fielding an ineligible player, and it seems his behaviour is beginning to cause tensions in the Spanish camp.

They will face Croatia, Turkey and the Czech Republic in Group D at Euro 2016 in France.
