Ronaldo admits to missing the Italian manager and admits that it is difficult to adapt to the Galactico model at the club
Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Real Madrid has been a huge talking point this season and the Portuguese superstar is not doing much to quell the rumours linking him with moves to PSG and Manchester United.
Ronaldo's relationship with both Florentino Perez and Rafa Benitez has been questioned recently based on a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona and a relatively poor spell of form based on the attacker's usually impeccable standards. A quick word in Laurent Blanc's ear after Real Madrid's meeting with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League was enough to set the rumour mill into overdrive and it hasn't slowed down since with Ronaldo the one contributing on a regular basis.
Speaking recently, Ronaldo said he would never rule out a move to any team in the world including Manchester City and even Barcelona, although he did admit that it would be very difficult for something like that to happen. He recently spoke to ESPNFC and spoke highly of his former manager while only paying lip service to his new coach.
"Mr. Ancelotti was an unbelievable surprise. In the beginning I though he was more a tough person, kind of arrogant and it was the opposite," Ronaldo told ESPN.
"He's like a big bear, I can say. He's a cute guy, such a sensitive person. He spoke with us every day. Not just with me but with all the players. He had fun with us.
"He's an unbelievable person. I just wish every player could have an opportunity to work with him because he's a fantastic guy, a fantastic coach and I miss him a lot because we won many trophies together. And I wish to work with him one day again. But now I'm good. I have a new coach and I'm happy too, but it's great I have good memories."
Ronaldo was one of Florentino Perez' greatest ever signings and has been one of the most successful Galactico arrivals during the entire era. Ronaldo, however, speaks openly about the difficulty playing under such a system and admits he would prefer a more stable structure at the club.
"Sometimes it is not easy. If you keep changing all the time it's hard," he said. "I don't like when they change, or they sell or buy players every year, or they change coach every year. Because I think sometimes you need time to know each other, to know the coaches. It's only the way that you can improve yourself in terms of individual or collective too. For the team to be consistent. To change all the time is difficult because you have to adapt to other players have to adapt to you. So it's hard."
Ronaldo continue to criticise the Galactico model, "I'm not a huge fan of when they change all the time but it's part of the business. The market is like that. They sell, they buy players. So you have to adapt to that. And Real Madrid is a club that buys a player every year, so we have to adapt to that."
