Karim Benzema hasn't been allowed contact with his France team-mate Mathieu Valbuena since the start of a legal case between the two, but he's asking for a face to face meeting to take place.

Recently, Benzema admitted to being a mediator for the discussions between Valbuena and his childhood friend Karim Zenati over an alleged blackmail case regarding a sex tape.

According to French paper Le Parisien, lawyer Alain Jakubowicz has submitted a request that the players appear together when the case comes before the courts again.

The judge in charge of the case has a month to consider her ruling on that request, but it would take longer to organise the meeting should she decide that it would be appropriate for the players.

There may well be more news for Benzema this week however, as the French Football Federation are set to decide if they will temporarily suspend the player as a result of the legal case, with an announcement on that front expected on Thursday.
