Ireland midfielder is leaving Stoke after almost a decade
Glenn Whelan's long association with Stoke City has come to an end.
After nine years with the Potters, the Ireland midfielder has stepped away from the Premier League and made the move to Aston Villa down in the Championship.
Is it the right move at this stage of his career as his 34th birthday approaches at the start of next year?
For our own Kevin Kilbane, he sees it as a positive switch for his former Ireland team-mate.
"Good move for him," he said on the Off The Ball Newsround which you can watch back in full below.
"Steve Bruce likes that type of player as well. When we were at Wigan with Bruce, he had someone like Michael Brown who liked to sit in midfield and do his job essentially.
"So, he'll probably let three or four others go and express themselves and they've got Glenn Whelan to go and do the perfect job for them. So he's got the right manager there in Steve Bruce. I think it's a good move for him, a two year deal as well and then you're edging closer to 35, so it's a great move."
