Former Galway manager believes Davy Fitzgerald's side can repeat their Allianz League win against the Cats
Former Galway hurling manager Anthony Cunningham fancies Wexford to pick up another landmark win over Kilkenny in this Saturday's Leinster Championship quarter final clash.
The two sides meet at Wexford Park just over two months on from Wexford's landmark win over Kilkenny in the Allianz Hurling League Division 1 semi final at Nowlan Park.
Speaking on Off The Ball alongside former Kilkenny hurler JJ Delaney, Cunningham retains confidence that Davy Fitzgerald's Wexford can repeat the feat.
"I think it's a game that everyone wants to go to and everyone wants to feel the atmosphere live because Wexford Park is a special place really and there's mad hurling people around the country but in Wexford, particularly when they get a couple of wins, they're really chest out and really, really want to beat Kilkenny down in Wexford," he said.
"The 2nd of April isn't too long away and that has really set up this Championship match. I think it's really set up for a Wexford win."
Delaney believes Kilkenny's players will "no doubt be hurting since the last day" against Wexford and "that they will be chomping at the bit" to avenge the loss on Saturday night.
