He collapsed during a training session in China
Former Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote has died, aged 30.
Tiote was the training with Beijing Enterprises when he collapsed.
The Ivorian played for Newcastle for six seasons before moving to China in 2017.
He played for his country 52 times.
His agent, Emanuele Palladino, confirmed the news earlier Monday.
"It is with deep sadness that I confirm that my client Cheik Tiote sadly passed away earlier today after collapsing in training with his club Beijing Enterprises.
"We cannot say any more at the moment and we request that his family's privacy be respected at this difficult time.
"We ask for all your prayers."
