The Welshman came on in the second half of the Champions League final
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was delighted Welsh star Gareth Bale was able to play his part in the club's Champions League success.
The Spanish side retained their European title with a 4-1 win over Italian champions Juventus.
There was speculation leading up to the match that Bale wouldn't start the game and that turned out to be the case. The attacker has struggled with injuries all season
However, Zidane defended his team selection while praising Bale's contribution.
"What's important is that he was with us," he said, adding: "It was very important for him to reach this final. I think I was correct to pick the team that started the game and after, he played a little while so I'm really happy for him.

"As well, because on top of that, he's playing here at home."
Bale replaced Karim Benzema in the second half as the Spanish champions romped to their 12th European Cup victory in Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
