40/1 outsider Wings of Eagles has won the Epsom Derby.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt, which was ridden by Kildare jockey Padraig Beggy, timed its run perfectly to win the famous race.

Wings of Eagles' win was the sixth time O'Brien has won the race. It's the first win for O'Brien since Australia was victorious in 2014.

After the race, O'Brien told ITV Racing that Beggy was a "world-class rider" and "tactically very aware", despite racing in the Derby for the first time.

The Ballydoyle trainer is now just the one win behind joining Robert Robson, John Porter and Fred Darling on seven wins each.

Beggy stayed within the pack, when it looks like Cliffs Of Moher (another of O'Brien's horses) looked like winning. The Kildare jockey moved up the outside inside the final furlong to win by just over a length.

Pre-race favourite Cracksman finished in third place. The Frankie Dettori-ridden horse never looked in contention to win the race and gave the Italian his third win.
