The Mohill club man was in fine form against London
This week's vote for GAA Footballer of the Week went in the direction of Leitrim forward Ronan Kennedy.
The Mohill club man and his county colleagues kicked off their Connacht Championship campaign with a fixture against London.
Leitrim won 3-10 to 0-16 and Kennedy's contribution proved crucial in Ruislip, with his two second half goals helping Leitrim to get over the line.
As a result, Kennedy, who had come on as a 40th minute sub, came out on top in the GAA official website's Gaelic Football Player of the Week poll, taking 41% of the vote.
At club level, Kennedy has been decisive for Mohill in their most recent Leitrim County Final successes, scoring the winning point in 2006 and getting the dramatic late winning goal in 2015.
He finished ahead of Tyrone's Conall McCann, who got 38% of votes and the 21% of Cork's Paul Kerrigan.
Leitrim now advance to a Connacht semi finals against rivals Roscommon which will throw in on June 18th at Dr Hyde Park.
