Today

Many areas dry with sunshine to begin today, Thursday, especially over the eastern half of the country, but scattered showers, already affecting Atlantic coastal counties will spread countrywide by early afternoon. The showers will be locally heavy, with thundery downpours in places.

Cool and fresh with top temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds, veering westerly.

Tonight

Tonight, most areas will become dry with clear intervals. Any showers will be well scattered and largely confined to the Atlantic coastal margins.

Lows of 2 to 6 degrees in mainly light westerly or variable breezes with local mist and fog patches forming.
