Man arrested after cannabis herb seized in Dublin

Gardaí have seized drugs and arrested one man as part of investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs.

The operation took place in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin.

Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €240,000 was seized when gardaí stopped a car at Cherry Orchard Drive on Friday evening at around 6.45pm.

The occupant of the car, a 29-year-old man, was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to Ronanstown garda station and is currently being detained for questioning.

He is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
