J.K. Rowling has described his loss as her worst nightmare
The pain of doing a thesis is nothing compared to the agony of losing your thesis, as Trinity College Dublin student Jamal Sulaimani learned this week. After leaving his backpack and MacBook in a taxi last Friday night, Jamal is desperately seeking any help in recovering the lost laptop where three years worth of his work is stored.
After making an appeal online, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling chimed in and described what has happened to Jamal as her worst nightmare.
Jamal had just finished putting the finishing touches to his thesis. He has been working on a study in conjunction with St Vincent’s Hospital, testing the effects of Vitamin D on Multiple Sclerosis patients.
Friday night was supposed to be a celebration as Jamal had just finished editing the thesis after receiving edits from his supervisor last month. However, the painstaking editing process is nothing compared to the pain of losing three-years worth of hard work.
The bag that Jamal has lost is black and has a small white logo on the front. It contained popcorn, water and a silver sleeve with his MacBook Pro
Jamal says the driver of the taxi he got home was probably in his 50's and had greyish hair. The car he was driving was navy in colour and may have been a Toyota Avensis.
