Two men arrested in Dublin on suspicion of terrorist offences

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences.

The pair were arrested in Dublin on Monday for offences pursuant to the Terrorist Offences Act 2015.

They are a male Algerian national and a male Moroccan national aged in their 30's and 40's.

The men were arrested by members of the Counter Terrorism International Unit.

They are both currently detained at Blackrock garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A number of searches were also carried out in Swords, Stepaside and South Circular Road areas of Dublin - as well as Trim in Co Meath.
